Mexico City lawmakers recently approved a measure to ban businesses from using single-use plastics\u00a0starting in 2021. I only wish it were sooner and that the entire world will get on board with this, but I’m glad the plastic bag revolution has begun! In fact, countries around the world are starting to ban or reduce single-use plastics, see the map lower below.<\/p>\n
I always use reusable bags or a backpack when I’m shopping, they’re much nicer anyway, they can hold more weight, and they can be reused over and over again. I also hope that packaging is re-thought to also reduce plastic whenever possible, those plastic-wrapped organic vegetables\u00a0and plastic labels on organic produce need to be eliminated or switched to biodegradable options.<\/p>\n
